About Piper

Welcome to The Frugal Life blog with me, Piper Terrett. Originally from Essex, I’m a freelance financial journalist  and have also worked as a university lecturer. I currently freelance for LoveMoney and Mirror Money Online and am always seeking new commissions, so do get in touch if you want to work with me. I recently helped edit a new book on climate change.

I’m also the author of three books: Bedroom DJ: A Beginner’s Guide, The Frugal Life: How to spend less and live more and crime novel Victim Support. Like many of us, I like to make my money go that little bit further.

I live in a village near Hertford with my husband Doug, our little boy, cat and pet pug . We moved here from Billericay in Essex in 2011.

If you want to get in touch, feel free to drop me a line at girlvforty@gmail.com or contact me via Twitter – I’m @girlvforty

Look forward to chatting with you!

  1. As a nutritionist I like your food challenges. Anything that makes us more aware of what we shove into our beanhole is good. Most people think to eat healthy costs a lot of money, or that frugality might be unhealthy. Thoreau was right when he told us to “simplify, simplify” and how eliminating the superfluities of life would leave only the best. I wrote the Minimalist Menufesto is that spirit.
